Denise R. Gaberman has produced and directed documentaries, cooking shows, and short films.  She has worked with the award-winning production company, Firelight Media, as an Associate Producer/Videographer on documentaries about high school reform and on the award-winning PBS documentary "Running" about the 2001 City Council races in NYC. Denise has also facilitated documentaries about: youth and elders on protesting the WTO, queer foster care, public space issues in NYC, and the pollution and clean-up of the Bronx River. She has written two screenplays: "VICIOUS CYCLES," about bicycle gangs in NYC and "THE ELECTRIC RED TAMBOURINE PROJECT," about a girl and her red tambourine.

Currently, Denise is in post-production of her documentary short "GUERRO DEL METAL: METAL WARRIORS," about Latin/Aztec/Mayan/Tribal heavy metal scene in Queens, NY.

She is currently in pre-production on an intergenerational feature length documentary with her father about their Russian Jewish Heritage in Shanghai, China.
